First of all, let us give a sincere thank you to all the people who have been supporting our lives despite the prolonged uncertainty and distress caused by the Covid-19 outbreak .
We are pleased to announce the establishment of the non-profit organization TASSEL Japan after receiving approval from TASSEL Cambodia, an international non-profit founded to assist the people of Cambodia.
People living in rural areas of Cambodia are facing the worst crisis of recent years, due to severe food shortage caused by droughts and floods and aggravated by the spread of Covid-19. Under these difficulties, local people have been living from hand to mouth. We decided to establish TASSEL Japan to provide assistance to them. With the help of as many Japanese people as possible, we believe that we will be able to provide sustainable support from Japan.
We are seeking support members who agree with this worthy cause. All support members will receive a regular email magazine that gives updates on the latest situation in Cambodia and detailed reports on activities carried out by student volunteers.
How to become a support member?
Please fill out the form for support members on TASSEL Japan’s website and transfer 3,000 yen as annual membership fee into the designated bank account. Please note that all founding members of TASSEL Japan are volunteers so all membership fees and donations will be entirely used to provide assistance to local Cambodia.First of all, let us give a sincere thank you to all the people who have been supporting our lives ans.
What if I want to donate more than the annual support membership fee?
Please donate the amount of your choice and specify in the column in the Donate section on the website. You will still be registered as a support member
Can I pass the money directly to one of the founding members?
Yes, if you know any of them personally.
We are a group of parents whose children have taught English to both children and teachers in Cambodia and visited the country as student volunteers for TASSEL Cambodia. Before the pandemic, student volunteers visited rural Cambodia every summer to meet their ‘students’ in person and donate food items and clothing to village people. We will never forget the day when our children left to visit Cambodia for the first time. We were filled with such emotion, which in turn led us to found this charity organization. Please bear with us if you think our website and the way it is run appear a little amateurish and old-fashioned. We have been doing everything ourselves without external help. Please contact us, if you are tech-savvy and willing to provide some help to improve the website or offer other types of assistance .
We sincerely ask you to forward this email to as many of your relatives, friends and acquaintances to spread the word about TASSEL Japan.
Thank you for your help.
